Assignment title: Operating Budget
What I learned: I really learned how to work with Excel to create a spreadsheet. I learned how to apply equations to the spreadsheet. I also learned how to create and organize an operations budget, to keep track of monies that are coming in and going out.
Reflection to the assignment: Although I was familiar with Excel, this assignment allowed me to learn how to navigate it better, and become more confident in using Excel. I also became familiar with the working of the business side of foodservice.
Relevance to the profession: In the foodservice department it is important to be able to manage money and inventory. It is also importance to be able to use Excel to create spreadsheets that would be useful for many aspects of the profession.
