Assignment Title: Nutrition Education Brochure: Essential Nutrients for Senior Nutrition: Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and Calcium

What I learned: I learned how to make a brochure that focused on senior nutrition, and how to create a layout that was easy for the senior population to read and understand.

Reflection to the assignment: I was able to work on my own to create nutrition education material that was and will be used in the future. I created the brochure for a class project, as well as for an internship I was participating in. I was working at Passages, a community senior resource center, as a nutrition intern. I was able to create my brochure and pass it out to seniors at their communal dining sites, where I was able to talk with, and receive feed back about the brochure. It was a good feeling to get positive feedback about the brochure that I had created.

 

Relevance to the profession: It is important to be able to implement nutrition education as a dietitian, whether I am in a clinical setting, community setting, or a food service setting. Being able to create nutrition education materials is a wonderful tool to be able to use in my future career.
