Assignment title: Café Brochure
What I learned: I learned how to assess a population based on demographics and produce a product that they would need or want. I learned how to research the local restaurant and café scene to assess what items were offered, and at what prices. I also learned from this project how to create a simple brochure that conveyed the general idea of the establishment, what services it provided, and information to draw the customer’s attention.
Reflection to the assignment: It was fun to create my own restaurant, even if it was fictional for the assignment. I enjoyed learning how to layout a brochure, and have used those skill for other projects.
Relevance to the profession: It is important to know your clientele, whether working in a clinical setting, food service setting, or a community setting. It is important to be aware of one’s community and what the people expect from it. It is also good skill to have to be able to create brochures to disseminate information.
